Terms and Conditions
Bookings for Mice and Men Pest Control taken over the phone or via email are a contract between the customer and the company Mice and Men Pest Control. By placing the order with us you warrant that you are legally capable of entering into binding contracts, you are at least 18 years old and are a resident in, and accessing our site from, the UK.
All pricing for our services quoted excludes VAT. Our prices are subject to change at any time, but changes will not affect orders where we have already carried out the treatment.
Our prices may vary on a geographical basis and may be subject to change, but shall be agreed at the time of booking, subject to any adjustment in accordance with these terms due to circumstances that we were unaware of at the time of booking.
Subject to any contrary terms in this agreement, our Service prices include any re-call(s) that are, in our reasonable opinion, necessary and there will be no additional charges for such subsequent visits.
Average house sizes based on the number of bedrooms are used when we quote over the phone or email. Mice and Men Pest Control reserve the right to amend the quotation based on the size of the property upon inspection or survey or should the customer’s requirements change.
In high levels of infestation where our standard service may not be the most appropriate treatment we will advise and recommend the best service and the cost of doing this. As a customer you are within your right to decline an upgraded service but you will be charged should you choose to cancel the agreed service arrangement. Mice and Men Pest Control accept the following types of payment -
For Domestic customers, we operate a policy of collecting payment on the first visit or prior to starting works due to non-payment risk.
Credit/ debit card
Technicians hold mobile card machines and will be able to accept payment directly from customers at the time of the job.
Invoice- bank transfer.
On successful creation of account with Mice and Men Pest Control we offer payment terms of 14 days to commercial and contract customers.
Parking and toll charges
If parking is not provided by the customer, parking costs will be added to the bill. Any toll or congestion charges will also be added to the bill.
The customer must give Mice and Men Pest Control and their representatives access at the time and date agreed and prepare the property as described when booking the service. If keys are provided they must open and close all locks without any special efforts or skills. Failure to give us access will result in a cancellation/ reschedule fee of £40+ VAT for a 1 man team or £80+VAT for a 2 man team (depending on treatment type).
Mice and MenPest Control cannot be held responsible for triggering any alarm systems. The customer must provide adequate information on disabling and resetting alarms and locks on the premises.
Customers are required to aid the technician in finding parking if necessary. Permits must be provided to the visiting representative if applicable, all parking costs/ toll charges will be added to the bill and borne by the customer.
Making an appointment over the phone or by email is a binding contract between the customer and Mice and Men Pest Control.
After placing an order for treatment with Mice and Men Pest Control you will be informed of an appointment date and time. We understand that pest control appointments are urgent in nature so please note that if you want us to start work immediately then you have made a specific request to wave your 14-day cancellation period.
You will still have a right to cancel but you must do so by either email or over the phone with at least 24 hours’ notice. Last minute phone calls or emails will not be accepted and cancellation fee of £40+VAT will apply.
Please note our current minimum call out charge is £40+VAT.
If we arrive and you do not require our services, this includes if the problem is not a pest or it has been wrongly identified, this call out charge is payable.
We understand that at last minute things can change and you may not be able to make the appointment, so we are happy to wave the cancellation charge providing the job is re-booked within 7 days (please note: this does not apply for free of charge follow-up visits. You will be charged cancellation for follow-up visits if we are notified of cancellation later than 24 hours before the booking).
These terms and conditions are binding and Mice and Men Pest Control will invoice cancellation fees if necessary. Failure to pay cancellation fees within 14 days will mean the debt will be passed to our debt recovery specialists, in this case, the third party recovery agents exercise the right to also recover their costs which will increase the charge significantly.
Cancellation fees apply to the following:
No show by customer at visit date/time of technician.
Non-compliance with preparation list as supplied by company.
Emergency jobs must be pre-paid in full or part paid if agreed. The full payment acts as a deposit and the full fee is therefore non-refundable in any case. (Note: Unless for unforeseen circumstances we are at fault for not attending on the allocated day).
Mice and Men Pest Control offer treatment guarantees on all of our services. Guarantees will be void if customers do not follow our guidance, treatment preparation guidance or carry out reasonable proofing / hygiene recommendations relating to the pest problem.
Guarantees are not included on services where the affected property is part of a terrace or the property is semi detached. Rodents are able to transition between properties using loft spaces, floor voids and walls. Mice and Men Pest Control will always try to find the ingress point/s to restrict access into the affected property, however if the ingress point/s are on an attached property it can complicate matters. Mice and Men Pest Control will always attempt to engage with neighbouring property owners when trying to resolve a pest issue if we believe it is stemming from their property.
Fully detached properties are automatically offered our pest free guarantee.
Once a treatment has been carried out there are no grounds for a refund. Mice and Men Pest Control carry out treatments at the customer request. Treatments cannot be ‘un-done’ without significant cost (often more than the treatment itself).
If a customer has a problem with any of the work Mice and Men Pest Control undertake they are politely asked to voice all concerns in an email to – email@example.com
Our policy is to respond within 3 working days. If necessary we will investigate all claims and complaints in order to present the best possible rectification.
Any damage caused by us will be paid for only if contractors/ materials are ordered through or accepted by Mice and Men Pest Control prior to rectification works. Anything beyond the above will be done through our insurance.
